| Ohlhausen, Michael II and Family Otto Ohlhausen said this was the family farm in Leutsdorf and the people in the photo were Michael, wife and first two children. Otto was born here in 1914. |
| Ohlhausen, Michael II and Family This map shows mostly E Prussia, but in the bottom left corner you can see the town of Pfeilsdorf which is in W Prussia, where their first farm was in 1904.
This map also shows the town of Manchengut in E Prussia, where the family lived in 1922 before coming to Canada in 1924.
Otto told me that the children went to school in this town and they did their shopping in Osterode and the bigger town in the area was Allenstein. After a couple of years they found that they could not make a living on this farm, so they decided to go to Canada. |
| Ohlhausen, Michael II and Family This map shows the area of West Prussia where the family lived from about 1904 until about 1922
In 1904 he was on a farm in Pfeilsdorf
In 1906 they were married in Schönfließ
In 1906 they moved to a farm in Leutsdorf and did most of their shopping in Rheinsberg. Briesen was the big town in the area.
The picture of the farm was taken in Leutsdorf as they lived here from 1906 until 1922 when they moved to Manchengut in East Prussia and then to Canada in 1924
|
| Ohlhausen, Michael II and Family The picture of the farm in Leutsdorf was on a Postcard and this is the back of that postcard. The family lived here from 1906 until 1922.
You can see that it was mailed in Rheinsberg, West Prussia, perhaps in 1914, as at that time they lived nearby in Leutsdorf. |
