Illness |
About 1905 he developed breathing problems and the doctor in OK said that he had to go to a drier climate so they moved to Granada CO, likely because Jusinta's brother Daniel W. was working on a sugar beet farm in the area. We know now that he died of TB and that both his father in law, Ludwig W. Sr. and his wife Justina also died of TB.

 | Ohlhausen, Nathalia König This is the life story of Nathalia "Dolly" König who married Henry Ohlhausen in 1917, written well after her death from information gathered from many sources. One of those sources was notes taken down by her daughter-law, Thelma Vetter Ohlhausen.
Growing up in the family and at times living with my grand parents, I had no idea of the hardships that she endured until I decided to tell her story.
I hope you also agree that it is a story worth telling.
God Bless you, Grandma

Notes |
- Lydia Jerke, who married Jakob Sandau wrote: "One of Elizabeth's brothers had immigrated to America before Elizabeth and John but had passed away shrortly before they arrived." [see Jerke1, page 11] We know that the John Jerke and his wife Elisabeth Koenig Jerke immigrated to Granada CO in Dec 1907 and that Gottlieb had died in March 1907 in Granada CO. We therfore are assuming that the parents listed on Elizabeth's funeral home record are also the parents of Gottlieb Koenig.

Gottlieb's death certificate shows Jacob as his father (no Mother listed). Dolly Koenig's diary shows that Gottlieb's sister 'Lizzie' married John Jerke. We therefore assume they have the same father.
