| Ohlhausen, Nathalia König This is the life story of Nathalia "Dolly" König who married Henry Ohlhausen in 1917, written well after her death from information gathered from many sources. One of those sources was notes taken down by her daughter-law, Thelma Vetter Ohlhausen.
Growing up in the family and at times living with my grand parents, I had no idea of the hardships that she endured until I decided to tell her story.
I hope you also agree that it is a story worth telling.
God Bless you, Grandma

"We came in 1908 mother's brother and sister families went to Hanna to farm. My mother and grandmother stayed in Calgary and us kids went to school. Mother had to clean houses and wash & iron cloths to get money to get something to eat. We were not long in Calgary then our mother got married name Phillip Keim a farmer at Acme NE of Calgary 50 miles & he had 6 kids when his wife died & mother had 5 children; that was a house full; we had lots to eat and lots of work too, milk cows, feed calves. We were there 1-2 years and mother got sick & a short time she died. Grandmother took care of her until she died. Then Grandmother went to Hanna where those aunts and uncles took up land and she took Dora & Lydia & Chris to Hanna. Dan, my brother stayed with Phillip Keim our step father & I went to Phillip Keim's brother; he was only 3 miles from here; his name was John Keim. I worked for a a little over 4 years & then I got married to Henry Ohlhausen on March 5, 1917. We took over Henry's folks farm for 8 years and the crops were not good, no rain so we moved out to Keims in Acme."
